“Join the Mayhem” for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rio Grande Valley!

Anyone can collect and donate pull tabs to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rio Grande Valley! Pull off tabs from aluminum coke and soup cans and drop them off at the House. Get everyone involved: family, school, church, coworkers, civic organizations and more. Click here for a printable flyer you can share to explain our program.

The Pull Tab Program raises valuable funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House and Family Rooms in the Rio Grande Valley. Money from pull tabs is raised through recycling. This program helps pay for families and children to stay at the House while their child is receiving medical treatment at the hospital. Your support helps ensure that these families will continue to have a place to rest, relax and recover together.

Drop off pull tabs seven days a week between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Ronald McDonald House located at 1720 Treasure Hills in Harlingen, TX.

Below are the materials and information you’ll need to get started:

Pull Tab Q & A

What does Ronald McDonald House RGV do with the pull tabs?
We recycle tabs and the money we receive helps pay for families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. More than 95% of families currently cannot afford to pay our $10 per night fee, but we never turned away a family because of their inability to pay

What types of pull tabs are accepted?
Tabs of soda, soup, vegetable, pet food, tuna and tennis ball cans, or any other aluminum can with a tab.

Why collect just the pull tabs and not the whole can?
The pull tab is made out of a more pure form of aluminum making it more valuable. Plus, it’s easier and cleaner to store pull tabs compared to the whole can. This is important for the Ronald McDonald House to keep a safe, clean environment for children and families.

How do I get my child’s school registered for the contest?
Contact your child’s principal and encourage them to register. Registration forms are available above or contact Denise Cantu at 956-412-7200 or email dcantu@rmhcrgv.org.

Where will the drop off location be on Friday,  April 7th?
Tabs will be tallied at the nearest recycling center drop off location and submitted to the Ronald McDonald House.
