Ronald McDonald House Charities® through its cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House in Harlingen, Texas, provides a home-away-from-home for families whose seriously-ill children are receiving medical care at local hospitals and clinics. Since our doors opened in 1998, more than 1,500 families have called the Rio Grande Valley’s Ronald McDonald House home.

Meet the ladies from the River Ranch Red Haters, from Rio Hondo, Texas. These ladies are part of an international club many know as the Red Hat Society. Their mission is simple, they are a society of women that support and encourage the pursuit of fun, friendship, freedom, fulfillment, and fitness. Or like Queen Pat Harcourt put it best “We are staying true to the child in us!” This year these ladies put on a series of events including a Duck Race, Poker Run, and Pinewood Derby all to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. They continue to support the RMH each year because they “truly believe in our mission, we believe it’s a good thing and we have even seen first hand how they help our families”.
This year they were able to collect pull tabs, and raise over $800 during their events. Queen Pat Harcourt, Past Queen Carolyn Babbitt, and member Marion Robinson are pictured above dropping off the donations. |
